Lucy Hale is an American actress and singer who is known mostly for her work on television and film but has also made a name for herself in music and the world of entertainment.
Early Life
Hale was born June 14, 1989, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Julie Knight and Preston Hale.
One of her great-grandparents gave her name. Add to that that her mom is a nurse. She has one older sister, Maggie Kirby, and one stepbrother, Wes.
She was homeschooled growing up, which is where Hale first came to prominence. She grew up doing theater and singing throughout her childhood.
Hale confirmed she suffered from an eating disorder in August 2012.
Career
- Hale made her broadcast debut in 2003 as a participant on Fox’s reality show American Juniors.
- Hale made an appearance in the short-lived NBC series Bionic Woman in 2007.
- Hale made her big screen debut in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2 in August 2008, playing Effie Kaligaris, Lena’s younger sister.
- In October 2009, Hale got the part of Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars, based on Sara Shepard’s novel series of the same name.
